Theory/Criticism/Praxis
Description
The goal of this course is to help prepare students for senior projects and professional work. This course provides a foundation in four main categories: Building ethical and equitable theatre-making processes; professional growth and skill-building; community development; and creating personalized methodologies and goals for future theatrical endeavors. We will hold workshops to expand our professional toolkit, adventure on a community-building outing, and deepen our ever-evolving understanding of ethical and equitable practices. Students will formulate their own aesthetic, philosophical, and critical points of view about theatre. Presentations, reflection papers, and weekly discussion will lead towards the final project: a senior project proposal, delivered to the full faculty and staff of the theatre department.
